Irene Riggs of Morgantown High in West Virginia set the national junior class record and produced the No. 2 all-time outdoor prep 2-mile performance by clocking 9:50.72 to finish runner-up to Dalia Frias of Mira Costa High in California, a Duke signee, who prevailed in 9:50.70 at the Brooks PR Invitational in Seattle. Frias and Riggs became the Nos. 4 and 5 all-time competitors on the absolute high school 2-mile rankings, including indoor performances.
